The formal re-humanisation and repatriation ceremony for the remains of 84 Namibian ancestors and two former political prisoners, which was expected at the Hosea Kutako International Airport, has been postponed to tomorrow, at 08h00.
The NBC News team on the ground in Cape Town has observed logistical difficulties affecting the delegation at the Cape Town International Airport.
The military aircraft carrying the remains of the 84 ancestral remains, as well as those of former Robben Island political prisoners Festus Nehale and Simon Niilenge, is scheduled to depart Cape Town at 06h00 on Friday morning.
The Presidency has apologised for any inconvenience caused by the postponement.
Education Minister Sanet Steenkamp is accompanying the remains and will hand over the remains to President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah tomorrow.
The remains will be stored at the Police Forensic Human Institute.
A funeral service for Simon Niilenge and Festus Nehale is scheduled for 24 August at the Heroes Acre.
