NamPost has opened an office at Nkurenkuru in Kavango West and launched its Strategic Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative.

The Nkurenkuru NamPost post office branch forms part of 12 additional service points that NamPost opened over the past 10 months, bringing the total number to 148 nationwide.

Nampost Board Chairperson Dr. Simeon Amunkete explained.

“Today’s event is about far more than opening a post office or the formal launch of the corporate social responsibility programme. It is about investing in people. It is about expanding opportunities. It is about connecting communities, particularly those in our regions, to services, information, and economic opportunities that genuinely improve the quality of daily life. A branch, a grant opening—these carry a deeper meaning.”

Governor Verna Sinimbo shared that NamPost's services connect communities to the broader economy and bring essential services closer to the people.

"For many elderly beneficiaries in Kavango West, the monthly old-age grant is more than an individual benefit. It is often the main source of income supporting an entire household, providing food, transport, medication, and other basic necessities. Any delay, therefore, affects not only the pensioner but also the children, grandchildren, and other family members who depend on that income.”

Through the NamPost's Strategic Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative, NamPost donated computers, printers, and mobile internet subscriptions worth N$1.1 million to the Kavango West Directorate of Education.

Minister of Information and Communication Technology Emma Theofelus commended Nampost.

“The launch of this NamPost Branch, together with the ICT equipment being handed over to the region's libraries and community centers, is a practical demonstration of that commitment. NamPost has, for decades, been an institution that connects Namibians. Today, it is also evolving into a broader platform for service access, financial inclusion, digital convenience, and economic participation.”

NamPost also launched the My-NamPost Banking App; customers can now buy airtime, data bundles, electricity, and water or send digitised PostPay money orders.
