The Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) has launched a website as part of its new journey of mobilisation and restructuring campaigns.

The National Assembly recently passed the Access to Information Act, and the official opposition party has decided to walk the talk by making its information available online.

The website aims to reach a larger audience, engage voters in party events, and provide useful and relevant information.

"Through this website, the PDM will present its message directly to the Namibian electorate, mobilise support during and between campaign periods and engage supporters and adversaries in dialogue and debate. The PDM website will typically be seen as one component in an online strategy for communication and mobilisation, a strategy which may also encompass official and unofficial party blogs and general-purpose social networking," said Manuel Ngaringombe, party Secretary General.

The appearance of the website is interactive and user-friendly with the objective of providing user satisfaction.

The website will have links to the party's social media platforms for a smooth integration of information between the website and all its social media platforms. It will also be a tool to engage youth and adults in the current digital age. "The PDM had in the past missed the opportunity to inform the public on the fulfilment of its 2019/20 manifesto promises. On social media projects delivered as part of its manifesto, the PDM features donations of school shoes by its president to needy learners."

The mobilisation feature of the website, Ngaringombe says, will also allow users to join the party and engage in campaign activities.
