Otjozondjupa Regional Governor James Uerikua is convening a meeting with stakeholders who will be involved in the preparations of the regional memorial service of the late Founding President Sam Nujoma.

The meeting is underway at Grootfontein, where the memorial service is to be held on 24 February.

Zimbabwe's President Emmerson Mnangagwa announced that he will respect the country's constitutional term limits and will not extend his tenure beyond the prescribed terms. 

During a media briefing on Monday in Harare, Mnangagwa made these statements, as reported by the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation.

Kavango West Governor, Sirkka Ausiku, has described the late Founding President Dr. Sam Shafiishuna Nujoma as a man who was passionate about education, women empowerment, and agriculture, among many other things.

A full bench of High Court judges will hear the case of cannabis activist Brian Jaftha, who is seeking the legalization of dagga in Namibia. 

The matter, initially scheduled for a status hearing, was postponed by High Court Judge Eileen Rakow to July 2.

Swapo Party Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah says the party is at a crossroads following the passing of Dr. Sam Nujoma.

Nujoma's death has placed a daunting task ahead for the ruling party, she said.
