It was a solemn atmosphere at State House today as Cabinet ministers reacted to the passing of President Hage Geingob.

The Editors Forum of Namibia (EFN) has described the late President Hage G. Geingob as a champion of the free press.

Further commending his direct involvement in promoting free media, which they say had a long-term impact not only on Namibia but also on the international media.

The Chairperson of the National Council, Lukas Muha, conveyed deep sadness over the death of President Hage Geingob.

Recognised as a freedom fighter and unifier, Muha emphasised Dr. Geingob's pivotal role in the nation's liberation.

Namibia's Ambassador to China, Elia Kaiyamo, sent his condolences to the family of President Hage Geingob and the entire Namibian nation.

The lowering of the flag was also conducted by the Defence Attaché at the embassy residence in Beijing, China.
