Walvis Bay Municipality to start negotiations with Red Force

Administrators of the Walvis Bay Municipality say negotiations with Red Force will commence following the official termination of the contract on Wednesday.

Red Force, however, says the latest development is disturbing and comical because it violates the agreement between the two parties.

Over the past four weeks, Walvis Bay residents and all local authority councillors have ganged up on Red Force, which was appointed six months ago to collect more than N$300 million owed by residents in outstanding water debts.

SPYL wants Red Force Debt Management out of Grootfontein

The Swapo Party Youth League (SPYL) in the Otjozondjupa Region has condemned the Grootfontein municipality's decision to appoint a debt collector.

The council appointed Red Force Debt Management to trace businesses and residents with outstanding accounts.

In a media release, the Otjozondjupa SPYL Regional Secretary, Alfeus Kamati, says Red Force disregards the welfare of residents and only considers the interests of those who hired it. 

Windhoek residents demand removal of Red Force as a debt collector

Over a hundred residents of Katutura in the capital, through a committee, are demanding from the City of Windhoek that they write off their water and electricity debts.

The committee also wants the removal of Red Force as a debt collector.

Speaking at a media briefing, the Chairperson of the Committee, Benistus Kandundu, said the City of Windhoek's account estimation policy is old-fashioned and needs to be abolished.

Okahandja Town Municipality finally receives petition of the aggrieved residents

The Okahandja Town Municipality finally received the petition of the aggrieved residents yesterday after failing to do so on five occasions.

Residents want to discuss the appointment of a debt collector, the lack of development as well as the prepaid water system.

The municipality hired Red Force to collect debt on its behalf.

These residents say, the municipality never approached them regarding the work of Red Force.
