The Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) has called on policymakers to shift their focus toward improving the daily lives of ordinary Namibians.

With more families unable to afford decent funerals for their loved ones, the burden of sudden deaths is increasingly falling on households already struggling to make ends meet. 

The cost of mortuary fees and burial expenses has left many unable to lay their relatives to rest with dignity.

The Governor of the Bank of Namibia, Johannes !Gawaxab, says the persistently high cost of living is a cause for concern that puts ordinary Namibians under pressure.

!Gawaxab advised that central banks combat inflation that disproportionately affects vulnerable members of society.
