Team Namibia leaves for the Para World Championships in Japan with much hope

A team of 25 Namibian delegates, comprising athletes, coaches, and guides, has travelled to Japan to take part in a qualifying event for the Paris Olympic Games.

The event starts on May 17th and runs until May 25th.

A group of 25 Paralympic athletes left last weekend to compete at the 11th edition of the World Championship, which serves as a qualifying platform for the Paralympics.

Over 1,000 athletes from more than one hundred nations are set to compete in 168 medal events taking place in Kobe, Japan.

Hamhola pleased with the high level of competition

Athletics Coach Letu Hamhola said he is pleased with the level of competition at the NSSU national athletics event that concluded in the capital over the weekend.

The two-day event, held at the Independence Stadium, was used to select a track and field athletics team for future international participation.

The NSSU national athletics championships saw athletes in the age groups of under 13 and under 19 from all 14 regions competing against each other for bragging rights.

Khomas Schools Sport Region Holds Regional Athletics Meet

The Khomas Schools Sport Region (KSSR) recently organized a regional athletics meet at the Independence Stadium. The participants, aged between 13 to 19, showcased their athletic prowess, with a Senior category also in the mix.

The primary objective of the event was to identify and select talented athletes who will have the honor to represent the region at the upcoming National Athletics Competition.
