MTC will provide about 200 CCTV cameras to the City Police under a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Windhoek.

SIM card holders whose numbers have been deactivated after registration are seeking answers from MTC in Katima Mulilo.

They claim that their numbers were registered, only to find that their cards seem to have been blocked.

MTC has deactivated 323,236 SIM cards, as 1,613,893 of its subscribers, 83.3%, managed to register by the deadline on Sunday.

1.6 million SIM cards have been registered across the country as of last month. 

Individuals who have not yet registered their cards are given a 15-day window to do so.
