A lack of parental involvement in their children's education is said to be one of the reasons for the high failure rate last year.

This was expressed by many of the Junior National Council members during their second sitting in Windhoek.

The National Council has called for an urgent investigation into the poor performance of the country's education system.

Today, the National Council resumed its session after a four-month hiatus.

The house chairperson, Lukas Muha, says the NC will sit for two weeks to look at various bills and motions, as well as reports referred to it by the National Assembly, including other reports from the Council as per its mandates.
