President-elect Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has dismissed rumours about her health at the Swapo Party's victory celebrations at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in the capital.

Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah rubbished allegations that she has been in and out of the hospital during the campaign period.

''Comrades, during this campaign there has been a lot of breaking news about Netumbo in this and that hospital. Honestly speaking, what is this? I have been in this campaign and on the road addressing party members and Namibians from 2022, together with the SEG, and I have never set foot in a hospital even for a headache."

In reference to an incident at Otjiwarongo, Nandi-Ndaitwah said it is a medical mystery, saying that her doctors were surprised by the time between the incident and when she went back to finish her statement.

The president-elect said she was medically cleared.

Nandi-Ndaitwah said it is shameful that some even said she collapsed during her campaign.

''All Namibians know; they know the reality. I can only tell you as a politician  that is an action of a desperate, wounded politician, who can make such lies"

Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah reassured her supporters that she remains committed to fulfilling the promises made during her campaign.

"I have been talking to all of you and have explained to you the Swapo party manifesto, and I believe many of you know, and there is a celebration. I want us to dance and sing and eat, so I am not going to go into the details of the manifesto. I can only tell you that the Swapo party leadership, we are ready to meet our commitments as we have put them in our manifesto."

The celebrations marked the Swapo Party's triumph in the 2024 Presidential and National Assembly elections. President-elect Nandi-Ndaitwah obtained 57 percent of the vote, while the Swapo party secured 51 seats in the National Assembly.
