Over 80 percent of the Erongo Region's population relies on the public healthcare system, where services are either free or offered at a minimal fee.
Rossing Uranium has stepped in to help improve the private sector's position in this regard.
The Health Director for the Erongo Region, Anna Jonas, who was speaking during the donation of N$1.25 million by Rossing Uranium, emphasised that to continue providing quality public healthcare, regular maintenance and upgrades of healthcare facilities are essential.
This ensures that patients receive services in environments that are not only physically safe but also psychologically conducive to healing.
She further stressed that a safe healthcare environment is crucial for the comfort and well-being of healthcare staff, who must work in conditions free from health hazards.
During a visit to the facility, Rössing identified critical areas in need of improvement and committed to making necessary changes to ensure the safety and well-being of both patients and healthcare workers.
