Caritas Namibia has donated blankets to the Namibian Association of Children with Disabilities at Mariental.

The donation benefited 20 recipients and forms part of the Catholic Church's efforts to support vulnerable members of society.

The Roman Catholic Church, Keetmanshoop Diocese, said the donation reflects its commitment to put compassion and love into action.

Makina said Caritas Namibia serves all people, regardless of their religious or social background, and works with government and other stakeholders to respond to the needs of vulnerable communities.

He also commended the Mariental Caritas team for reaching out to children with disabilities.

The Namibian Association of Children with Disabilities was established in 2013 and advocates for equal rights and opportunities for children with disabilities and their full integration into society.

The organisation also provides parental guidance and counselling, promotes access to education, and works with government and other stakeholders on issues affecting children with disabilities.

The donation also strengthens the partnership between faith-based organisations, government and community groups in supporting vulnerable people.
