Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) Member of Parliament, Deriou Benson, has tabled a report on the 10th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians.

The event was organised by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the National Assembly of Armenia from September 12–14 last year.

The conference focused on helping young parliamentarians take an active role in politics.

This yearly IPU event brings together young members of parliament from around the world.

It gives them a chance to meet, share ideas, learn from each other and plan new ways to support young people.

This year's theme continued from last year's: "Avoiding Lost Generations: Preserving Education and Employment in All Circumstances."

"Participants reaffirmed the sustainable development goals principle of leaving no one behind. Despite progress, many marginalised groups continue to face significant barriers to accessing education and employment. With only six years remaining to achieve the SDGs, young parliamentarians must commit to inclusive education and employment systems that cater to all regardless of gender, ability or background. The 2025/2026 National Budget places clear emphasis on youth empowerment, and Her Excellency the President has underscored that youth development must be prioritised before embarking on other projects," said Benson.

Participants discussed youth education, jobs and how crises affect young people's rights and futures.

The goal was to find ways to protect young people's access to education and employment, even in difficult times.
