Residents of Okatseidhi Village in the Omusati Region celebrated the appointment of Dr. Elijah Ngurare as Prime Minister at a special ceremony.
Dr. Ngurare is a resident of Okatseidhi.
The jubilant community described the appointment of Ngurare by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah to one of the highest positions in the government as historic.
The atmosphere was filled with jubilation and hope for a prosperous future under his leadership.
The event included naming Okatseidhi Sports Field in honour of him.
At the occasion, residents pointed out some of the developmental needs in the Okatseidhi area, such as a water pipeline from Ruacana via Omakange to Okatseidhi, a community hostel, a sub-police station, and a road to Okatseidhi for ease of access to health facilities and schools.
The community appealed to the premier to prioritise education and youth development at Okatseidhi as part of his broader developmental agenda.
Dr. Ngurare expressed his gratitude to the community and, most of all, to God.
He was showered with gifts, including a cow and a sheep from Omukwaniilwa of Uukwaluudhi Traditional Authority, Tshikongo Taapopi.
