The International University of Management (IUM) hosted its 21st convocation ceremony, with over 2,500 students successfully completing their studies.
The ceremony held under the theme "Empowered to Inspire Change and Transformation" was a glorious occasion for students as they received their qualifications in various fields.
More than 70% of the graduates were female.
Professor Osmund Mwandemele, the Vice Chancellor of IUM, expressed that the students' achievements will create new opportunities for them.
"Today is a special day. It is a special day because we are celebrating the hard work of our students. It may have been a long and difficult journey, but here we are celebrating our graduates' great achievement. Let me, therefore, congratulate all the graduates on their successful completion of their studies. We are indeed very proud of your success."
Among the awarded qualifications were 1,241 postgraduate diplomas, 73 master's degrees and two doctorates.
Since 1994, over 36,000 students have successfully completed their studies at the university.
Founder of IUM, Professor David Namwandi, commended the students for their hard work and dedication as he shared some words of wisdom and encouragement with the graduates.
"As it stands, you are at a crossroads. The world is waiting for you. And remember, it shall never be business as usual for you, at least, because this time around you are expected to prove yourself, to tell the prospective employers and the nation what you have in store in terms of skills."
Professor Namwandi expressed his confidence in the graduates that the acquired skills will enable them to make a difference in the country and beyond.
