The Commemoration of World Albinism Day is underway at Nkurenkuru in the Kavango West Region. 

The day is commemorated under the theme "Demanding our Right, Protecting our Skin and Preserving our Lives".

Jakobo Haiyambo shared his experience over 35 years of suffering stigma and skin problems.

He said short sight has been one of the challenges as well, affecting his academic life.

Haiyambo proudly announced that despite all the limitations, he made it to tertiary education, specialising in education at IUM as a third-year student.
