Gainatseb village in Kunene's Kamanjab Constituency will soon have access to electricity.
This follows a groundbreaking and commissioning of the low- and medium-voltage network for reticulation, street lighting, and service connections.
At the groundbreaking event, Kamanjab Constituency councillor Nico Amutenya says this is a symbol of progress and development.
Amutenya says the village has waited for a long time to get an electricity connection to better the lives of community members through economic opportunities, better education, and health care.
With the electricity connection in progress in the area, Amutenya added his office will work towards adding services.
He called on the contractor to consider local residents, including those with disabilities, for temporary employment in the project.
