Oshana Governor Hofni Iipinge has assured that the region is fully prepared to host the upcoming Namibia National Students Organisation (NANSO) 19th Elective Congress, scheduled to take place in August this year.

The decision to host the congress in Oshana is a significant milestone not only for the Regional Executive Committee but also for the country as a whole.

Iipinge said the Office of the Governor considers it its responsibility to support young people and ensure that Oshana successfully hosts an event of such national importance.

He noted that the region looks forward to welcoming delegates from all 14 regions and called on regional leaders, schools, local authorities, businesses, and communities to extend their renowned Oshiwambo hospitality to visitors.

“Working together with our stakeholders and partners, we were pleased to facilitate the securing of a suitable venue, thereby enabling the national congress to come to Oshana. This achievement demonstrates what becomes possible when institutions work together in the interest of young people. Government does not exist merely to administer programmes it exists to create opportunities and to support citizens in achieving their aspirations.”

He expressed confidence that, through collective efforts, every delegate will leave Oshana with fond memories of the region and its people.

“As we prepare to welcome delegates from across Namibia, let us ensure Oshana sets a benchmark not only in hospitality but also in organisation, discipline, unity and excellence. Let this Congress become a defining moment that inspires a new generation of ethical, visionary and servant leaders who will carry our nation forward.”

NANSO Secretary General Secilia Ambunda also welcomed the opportunity for Oshana to host the 19th Elective Congress, expressing hope that the event will be peaceful and successful.

"This upcoming elective congress, should not be remembered for violence. It should not be remembered for conflicts. It should be remembered because Oshana reminded everyone in the organisation of what unity looks like.”
