During a two-day visit to the Zambezi Region, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Namibia Brandon Hudspeth explored the impact of the U.S. government-supported initiatives over the past 20 years.

The visit kicked off with a stop at the Kwandu Nursery Project, which received a self-help grant of US$3,700, highlighting support for sustainable community development through the Kwandu Conservancy Community Forest in the Kongola Constituency. 

This morning, Ambassador Hudspeth met with the Zambezi Governor Dorothy Kabula to foster collaborative discussions on ongoing and future partnerships.

Following the courtesy call, the team toured various healthcare facilities, including the Katima ART Clinic and Pharmacy, and conducted a walkthrough of the hospital laboratory at the Katima Mulilo State Hospital. 

They also visited the Walvis Bay Corridor Group Clinic, which focuses on serving mobile populations and cross-border patients.

Healthcare staff expressed gratitude for the progress achieved through support from USAID, as these initiatives have significantly enhanced service delivery and health outcomes in the region.
