Prosecutor Lilungwe Basson on Wednesday informed Magistrate Jurina |Hochobes that the State intends to file an application against her, asking her to step aside from the ongoing NAMCOR corruption matter.

Basson did not disclose the reasons for the application but said the State will formally submit it on Friday.

Magistrate |Hochobes is expected to deliver her ruling on the matter on September 9.

The announcement effectively postponed Cedric Willemse's bail application, which was due to start this morning.

Willemse's bail application will now only proceed after the magistrate rules on her recusal.

Similarly, Austin Elindi, through his lawyer last week, indicated that he would only apply for bail when he is ready, while Panduleni Hamukwaya is without legal representation and has not applied for bail.

Lydia Elindi and Connie Van Wyk have been released on bail of N$50,000 after the State lifted its objection against granting them bail.

Magistrate Linus Samunzala will deliver his ruling in the bail application filed by Immanuel Mulunga, Jennifer Hamukwaya, Peter and Malakia Elindi, Olivia Dunaiski, and Leo Nandago on September 26.
