With the school development fund no longer compulsory and schools' growing population, some institutions are finding it tough to keep up with needs.
In response to this, the Ongombe Farmers Association donated N$25,000 to the Okamatapati Combined School development fund.
The contribution will go towards enhancing educational resources and providing better learning environments for learners.
"The farmers who are bringing their cattle to our auction are not the ones we are referring to. These are the farmers who are sitting here today, and as it was said by the pastor today, education is one of the key sectors for our current president," said Chris Katjitundu, Chairman of the Ongombe Farmers Association.
Expressing his appreciation, Benfried Kaapehi, the principal of Okamatapati Combined School, urged stakeholders to sponsor schools in rural areas.
"We need to capacitate schools that are in rural areas like Okamatapati for these people to benefit and for their learners also to benefit."
The association also donated N$5,000 to the Otjotungava Peer Group.
The funds will go towards organising their annual sports tournament and encouraging youth participation in sports and community activities.
