The Keetmanshoop Town Council hosted an Investment Day aimed at attracting potential investors and unlocking business opportunities in the town.

The event brought together entrepreneurs, investors, private sector players, government institution representatives, and academics to share insights on unlocking investment opportunities, advancing renewable energy, and strengthening the fiscal and business environment.

Keetmanshoop Mayor, Annelize Knaus, explained that "This platform was established with a clear purpose: to attract investors, drive development, create jobs and uplift our communities.  We believe that by opening our doors to investors, innovators, and entrepreneurs, we are also opening doors for our youth, for our women, and for every citizen striving for a better tomorrow."

The council's management committee chairperson, Easter Isaack, noted that the event further seeks to forge partnerships to create a long-term self-sustaining society.

"Public-private partnerships are what we are engaging in so that we can tailor-make it to the needs of our people and so on. Therefore, we encourage public-private partnerships to initiate projects and ensure that any investment made is meaningful. So, that both the public partner and private partner can have a common ground where both interests are met."

Isaack urged stakeholders to work closely with the council, which he said remains committed to sustainable growth and proactive partnership.

The council is in the process of drafting investment, land sales and special economic zone policies, all intended to attract potential investors.
