National Democratic Party (NDP) President Martin Lukato has said his party will write off the water bills of senior citizens, make sure they have free water, assist churches with state funds, and make education free.
This, Lukato said, will happen once the NDP is voted into power to take over the affairs of the Windhoek City Council.
Lukato further highlighted that his party will tackle the delivery of land, as many people are without it.
He encouraged voters to go out and vote for the party's candidate at the party's manifesto launch in the capital.
"We have launched all initiatives that will benefit the Namibian people, and this message extends to the 2029 elections: the citizens of this country must participate in large numbers and engage throughout the entire nation. We aim to secure control over local authorities and regional councils in 2026, as well as in 2029. I do not seek to govern this country for my own benefit, as I consider myself a servant. The people of Namibia must vote for me and for the NDP so that we can govern together, and I assure you that we are committed to serving the public interest."
The NDP promises new initiatives to strengthen the fight against gender-based violence by resourcing forensic laboratories for quicker and efficient DNA testing for GBV-related crimes and empowering family, child and sexual offence units to gather and process data.
The NDP launched its party manifesto and announced the candidates who will contest in the Regional Councils and Local Authorities elections on the 26th of November.
It will contest in eight constituencies and two local authorities in Zambezi, two constituencies and two local authorities in the Erongo, one local authority in Kavango East, one constituency in Oshikoto, one constituency in Omusati and two constituencies in the Kunene Region.
