The Electoral Commission of Namibia's Returning Officer for Karasburg East Constituency in the ||Kharas Region, Cedric Thomas, has said it's all systems go for Wednesday's Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections.

Thomas told NBC News that election officials were deployed on Sunday to nineteen mobile and ten fixed polling stations across the constituency.

"So far, the process here and there has minor challenges. But, so far, everything is going according to plan. This time, we are more than well organised, and we work as a team so far. The process is smooth."

The returning officer highlighted the transport challenges as minor constraints.

He was, however, quick to add that private vehicles provided by the public have helped resolve the transport issue.

"We are currently busy with the allocation of the vehicles to the teams. So, for Karasburg East, we have 30 cars. We tested 30, and all the cars we tested passed the roadworthy test. The number is enough; it caters for all venues in Karasburg East."
