The Inspector General of the Namibian Police Force, Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo, said some community members have a large part to play when it comes to criminal activities in Kavango East.
Shikongo is holding a community meeting with residents in Rundu.
During the meeting, he asked community members who are harbouring criminals to identify themselves, but no one took the bait.
The Chief of Police also touched on the fact that some of the police officers have been localised for too long, ultimately affecting their performance in the region.
He said the solution will be to move them to serve in other parts of the country, something the police are currently working on.
