The Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts, and Culture, Sanet Steenkamp, has urged school learners to show self-respect towards their teachers, embrace hard work, and avoid engaging in criminal activities.

Steenkamp remarked on this during her visit to various schools at Swakopmund, where she encouraged learners to focus on their education and make positive choices for their future.

Steenkamp says there will be zero tolerance for learners who refuse to comply with school rules or believe that they are old enough to disregard authority.

She reminded school learners that regulations are put in place and they should be respected.

Steenkamp urged parents to restore discipline at home, stressing that discipline within households plays a critical role in maintaining order within schools.
