The Namibian Police have distanced themselves from a video circulating on social media, which they say promotes division and racial hatred.

Kauna Shikwambi, the Head of the Police Public Relations Division, stated that the video's creators used the police logo without authorisation.

"The unauthorised use of the police logo is a criminal offence under Section 32 of the Police Act, 1990 (Act No. 19 of 1990, as amended)," she stated. "The Namibian Police Force condemns the video in the strongest terms, as its content promotes tribal and racial disharmony and incites exclusion and hatred."

Shikwambi quoted the song's allegations, which say, "Ndonga people are violent. Ndonga people are hostile. Ndonga people create fear among communities by killing people. And if they want to leave the land, they must pronounce themselves."

Police confirmed the video is AI-generated and cautioned the public against creating or circulating misleading and inflammatory content. Shikwambi warned that such actions carry serious legal consequences.
