The 2026 Women's Open season officially teed off in Windhoek with the hosting of the Windhoek Women's Open, featuring several of the country’s top female golfers competing for the year's first honors.

Leading the field in the Overall Gross category was Anecia Le Grange, who finished with a score of 175. Alvine Samuel claimed the Overall Nett title with a 134 on a count-out. Anja Wessels finished as the Runner-Up Gross with 179, while Chantel Visser secured the Runner-Up Nett position with 146.

In the C-Division, Nelago Amutenya recorded 88 points to secure a victory at the opening tournament of the year. Reflecting on her performance and the challenges of the course, Amutenya noted that while the back nine proved difficult, she was pleased with her progress and the supportive environment.

"My day was good. The course was difficult, especially on the back nine, but I still managed to score points, which is a good thing," Amutenya said. "I did well, but there is always room for improvement. It is a work in progress. It was doubles we usually play medal, but I was playing with my partner, so it was nice. It is always good when you have a group of people playing together; women supporting one another and not putting each other down. This is the first Women's Open of the year, and there is more to come, so it will be good."

Runner-Up Nett finisher Chantel Visser also reflected on her round, identifying specific areas of her game that were tested during the competition.

"I think some of the par-fives were the most challenging for me. I made a few mistakes and my chipping was not good," Visser noted. "But my driving was good, and overall it was a lot of fun. That was the most important thing for me."

With the conclusion of the Windhoek Women's Open, the players now shift their focus toward the rest of the season.
