The AVEC Dressage Tournament took place at the Auas View Equestrian Stables in Academia, Windhoek, bringing together riders from across the country for a weekend of equestrian competition.

The event marked a significant milestone for several participants, as four new riders received certificates after successfully completing their Rider Proficiency Test Level 3. This qualification allows them to participate in graded shows, representing a vital step forward in their competitive equestrian journeys.

The tournament recorded 70 entries across various classes, showcasing performances that reflected a wide range of skill levels. Dressage is a discipline where riders guide horses through a series of precise movements, focusing on balance, control, and clear communication between horse and rider.

Richard Frankle, Chairman of the Namibia Equestrian Federation, welcomed the new competitors and discussed the broader development of the sport. "I'm pleased to welcome the four new riders into the sport," Frankle stated. "Three completed Level 3, and the youngest rider who completed Level 1 is ready to compete in Levels 2 and 3. We aim to expand dressage across all 14 regions to raise standards and improve competition among riders."

The tournament reflects the ongoing growth within Namibia's equestrian community as more riders transition into the competitive dressage arena.
