Namibian swimmer Rosalinda Matyayi delivered a gold-medal performance in the 50m backstroke at the SA National Junior Age Group Championships, while Lorenzo Esterhuizen finished fourth.
Matyayi won the 15-year-old 50m backstroke with a time of 30.46 seconds. Several swimmers competed in the heats across various age groups, with both girls and boys gaining valuable experience against South African competitors.
Lorenzo Esterhuizen recorded a fourth-place finish in the senior division with a time of 27.7 seconds. The Namibian team competed across multiple age categories, gaining exposure at a higher level of competition.
Meanwhile, a team of 21 Namibian swimmers traveled to Pretoria for the SSA Level 3 Age Group Championships, aiming to build on these recent performances.
