The FIFA Elite Youth Coaches Workshop, which recently concluded its two-day programme in Windhoek, Namibia, serves as a vital platform for local coaches to enhance their skills through training hosted by the Namibia Football Association (NFA).

Designed to elevate standards across the country, the workshop connects coaches with FIFA technical experts to focus on modern youth football coaching. Throughout the intensive training, participants engage in sessions covering advanced training methodologies, tactical innovation, and holistic player development.

A core takeaway for attendees is a shift in coaching philosophy: moving away from a primary focus on match results toward structured, player-centred development and long-term planning. Upon completing the course, coaches receive certification and are equipped with the tools to implement these strategies within their clubs and communities.

This initiative is a key component of FIFA’s ongoing commitment to supporting grassroots football and developing the game at the local level.
