Momentum, in conjunction with the DSA Academy, is hosting a junior golf tournament aimed at developing young players and fostering the growth of the sport among children. With the junior league season officially underway, participants have taken to the course to compete, learn, and refine their skills.

The event is open to competitors aged 6 to 18, providing a structured platform for both beginners and experienced golfers to test their abilities. Organizers emphasized that beyond the competition, the tournament aims to promote discipline, sportsmanship, and long-term player development.

Reflecting on their performances, some of the participants highlighted the technical challenges and the excitement of returning to the greens."I think today's game was my best, but at the start, I was doing bad. I got better with my driver shots, but it was just my putting that was tricky," said U13 player Oresen Hinda.

For many, the tournament marks a welcome return to competitive play following the break."It's good to be back from the vacation and to be competing here at Momentum and the Opens again. It's good to be back," noted Paul Kapia.

The competitive nature of the event, which includes prizes for top performers, serves as an added incentive for the young athletes to sharpen their games."I feel very good that I started the season off with a strong score. I played really well today. Some shots were not good, some shots were very good, but mostly, it was all right," said Marcel Stiemert.

For JP La Grange, the tournament provided a valuable learning experience as he continues to adapt to high-level play."In the first round of the British Open League, I didn't play well, but then I started to settle in. I came back nicely, and it was a good experience for the first time—it was very fun."

The tournament series continues to provide a vital pathway for junior development in Namibia. The next installment is scheduled to take place on 18 May at the Windhoek Country Club.
