Zambezi Police are investigating a series of road-related incidents.

This includes a hit-and-run on Friday along Dr Sam Nujoma Drive near the Bebi 1 location involving a pedestrian.

The incident occurred on a section of road currently under rehabilitation.

An eyewitness told NBC News that the said vehicle attempted to overtake another and, in the process, struck a pedestrian.

The driver allegedly failed to stop, but workers stopped him, though he fled in the process.

The pedestrian sustained injuries.

Earlier on Friday, a man also sustained serious injuries when two vehicles crashed along the B8 road.

One of the drivers was seriously injured. It is alleged that the driver was not in possession of a licence.

It is also reported that his three passengers fled the scene.

Four passengers in the second vehicle sustained minor injuries.

On Thursday, a truck driver travelling from Walvis Bay to the Wenela Border Post was seriously injured after colliding with a herd of buffalo at Kaenda, causing the truck to overturn.

A man sustained injuries in a separate incident when an excavator fell on him in the Macaravani West location.

According to a traffic officer at the scene, the excavator fell off a truck after losing balance.

It reportedly landed on the man after he had exited to investigate the load's balance.

He sustained injuries to his leg and face. He is in a stable condition.
