President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah expressed deep appreciation for the wisdom and experience of former President Hifikepunye Pohamba during a visit to his residence in Okanghudi Village, accompanied by former President Nangolo Mbumba.

Nandi-Ndaitwah said she is humbled by Pohamba’s encouraging observations regarding her leadership and credited the strong foundation laid by past presidents for easing her work.
“Pohamba as former Heads of State says we women are working. I am humbled and honored. I must say our work is easier because of the foundation laid by our former Presidents and other leaders before us, who have ensured a smooth continuation of leadership and have set the bar... we truly appreciate it,” she noted.

Pohamba commended Nandi-Ndaitwah, Vice President Lucia Witbooi, and Swapo Secretary General Sofia Shaningwa for their leadership, acknowledging initial skepticism about a woman leading Namibia:
“Some people were asking me, do you think she can do it? I said let’s wait and see. Now, the nation has been waiting to see if Netumbo can do it, what Sofia Nahango and meme Lucia Witbooi are doing. They are doing wonderfully well than what we did. This gathering of leadership from past and present demonstrates Namibian strength lies in unity, wisdom, and shared vision.”

Former President Mbumba thanked Pohamba and his wife for their continued support:
“You give us knowledge which makes us happy and proud and to remember the work we did and continue to carry out for our people, we will continue to engage with you at any given time to give us support and direction.”
