The Miss Namibia top 10 finalists embarked on a cultural excursion through the Omaheke Region, an experience that not only introduced them to the rich traditions of the region but also brought communities together in celebration of culture and unity.

The journey in the region became far more than a simple tour, as they spent their days in the everyday lives of the people of Omaheke.

From interacting with residents in villages and settlements to learning traditional customs and participating in cultural activities, the young women were given the firsthand experience of the diversity that makes the region unique.

The excursion saw the finalists engaging with the Ovambanderu, Ovaherero, Bakgalagadi, San and Batswana Ba Namibia communities.

One of the standout moments of the tour was the opportunity for the finalists to witness and learn about cultural practices that have been preserved for generations.

Among the Ovaherero community, they were introduced to the holy fire and the symbolic Omuhuva bracelets in the Otjiherero culture, believed to offer protection from spirits while in the homestead where the holy fire is situated.

In Epukiro, the finalists listened attentively as elders shared stories about the history and identity of the Ovambanderu and Bastwana Ba Namibia people, while in Aminuis, the Bakgalagadi community showcased traditional songs, dances and beliefs passed down through generations.

As part of their outreach activities, the finalists donated Top Score porridge to various communities across the region.

Another major highlight of the tour was the visit to the Hosea Kutako Museum and Homestead Shrine.

The cultural excursion has also generated growing excitement ahead of the Miss Namibia finale set to take place in Gobabis on 01 August 2026.

Across the region, young and old residents took photographs and interacted with them during the various activities.

Adding to the anticipation is the newly introduced Miss Namibia vodcast on the Miss Namibia YouTube channel, which has allowed audiences across the country to follow the finalists' experiences throughout the tour. The vodcast has given viewers a closer look into the personalities, friendships and emotional moments shared during the excursion.
