The residents of Keetmanshoop have welcomed the cold and rainy weather conditions experienced at the southern town, appreciating the much-needed rain as a blessing.

Reporter Luqman Cloete took to the streets to hear from the residents how they experienced the cold weather.

“I thought it is global change, and global warming is a threat. But, I enjoyed the weather. And as a farmer, I enjoyed it, and appreciated the weather. It is not cold, but it is raining, throughout yesterday night it was raining. Wow, we are grateful,” said Francine Vries.

“I really enjoy it, I love this weather. It is something else for us. And we are so grateful for the rain. We appreciate what God give us this time,” stressed Shirley Poulton.

"I think from the coldness, I really enjoy it because I am actually a winter baby. So, summer is dangerous for me, you don't know what to wear. But in winter you can pack up. And the weather is good. I personally do not have a complaint,” added Pieter Skeyer.

Namibia Meteorological Service forecasts that the weather will be partly cloudy and mild to warm with rain during the morning hours over the extreme south-east of the Karas region.
