Learners from different schools converged at EHW Baard Primary School in Noordoewer, in the ||Kharas Region, and were empowered with information and knowledge about various career paths they could follow at a career fair.
The career fair was hosted by the Development Workshop Namibia in partnership with Koryx Copper.
The event featured professionals from various career fields who empowered and motivated school learners and unemployed youth regarding different career opportunities.
Karasburg West Constituency Councillor Katrina Cloete said, "Many young people possess great potential but lack access to information about the opportunities available to them. Through events such as this career fair, learners can engage directly with professionals, institutions and employers to gain valuable insight into different careers, study options and skills required in the modern world of work."
In his motivational speech, Sustainability Manager at Koryx Copper, Robert Zipplies, urged learners to stay focused on their education.
"My biggest encouragement and biggest plea to all of you is to try and finish school, even though it's tough, even though you don't do so well; it kind of lays the foundation for the rest of your life."
