Peter Shalulile has begun a new chapter in his career after signing for Tanzanian giants Yanga SC on a free transfer.

The 32-year-old striker joins the club following the expiration of his contract with Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of June, bringing an end to his memorable six-year tenure with the South African side. Although his contract contained an option for a one-year extension, both parties mutually agreed to part ways.

During his time with Sundowns, Shalulile cemented his legacy as the Premier Soccer League's all-time leading goalscorer with 132 goals, helping the club secure multiple domestic titles along the way.

Following his exit from Pretoria, the prolific forward attracted interest from clubs across North Africa, East Africa, and the wider continent before ultimately choosing to complete his move to Tanzania.

The transfer reunites Shalulile with head coach Manqoba Mngqithi, who was recently appointed to lead Yanga SC after previously working alongside the forward at Mamelodi Sundowns. Yanga will now lean heavily on Shalulile’s experience and proven goalscoring prowess as they prepare for the upcoming domestic season and continental campaign.
