Zimbabwe's trade development and promotion organisation, ZimTrade will next month bring along companies for an outward trade mission in Windhoek.

The tour will run from 09 to 11 September as part of the neighbouring country's efforts to grow exports and grow business ties between Namibia and Zimbabwe.

In an interview with NBC News, a manager with ZimTrade responsible for Zimbabwe's Southern Region, Jacqueline Nyathi, said the mission is part of strengthening commercial ties between Namibia and Zimbabwe.

Nyathi said participating companies will use the mission to explore market opportunities, pursue supply contracts and establish business relationships in Namibia.

“ZimTrade will lead a delegation of 15 companies to Windhoek in Namibia on an outward trade mission where the participants will get an opportunity to engage with prospective partners and buyers in the Namibian market. The outward mission will see Zimbabwe hosting a business forum where discussions will center on how the two countries can strengthen their economic ties, and at the same time, the companies will have an opportunity to engage in business-to-business meetings and carry out site visits to selected companies, as we seek to strengthen ties between the two countries.”

Nyathi said Namibia and Zimbabwe, as SADC members, have a bilateral trade agreement, and it is only right that companies from the two countries participate in such kinds of initiatives.
