It was a gesture of honesty, but for 63-year-old Keetmanshoop resident Anna Cloete, the return of her lost wallet was a reminder that compassion, honesty and humanity still exist within the community. 

Cloete was left distressed after losing her wallet with 80 dollars and national identity documents. 

But her anxiety turned to relief when a local resident, who prefers to remain anonymous, handed the intact purse to the NBC's Keetmanshoop regional office for a lost and found announcement. 

Within hours of the announcement on social media, a visibly relieved Cloete walked in to claim her lost wallet. 

"I am very grateful that she found the wallet and handed it to NBC. If it had been someone else, I might never have gotten my wallet back. I was not too concerned about the money, but without your documents, you can basically do nothing. Let God bless her; let God bless her hands."
