Members of the Namibian Defense Force and Botswana Defense Force are currently engaged in an exercise aimed at strengthening military cooperation between the two security forces.

Dubbed Exercise Hanganee/Tshwaragano III, the joint exercise has been described as another significant milestone in the enduring military relationship between NDF and BDF.

Officially opening the exercise recently, Botswana Defense Force Deputy Commander Joseph Seelo said the exercise provides a platform for Namibian and Botswana military personnel to improve operational effectiveness.

By training together, Lieutenant General Seelo said the personnel from NDF and BDF will understand one another and build the confidence necessary for effective cooperation.

“The security environment in which our defense forces operate continues to evolve. Many of the challenges confronting our region today do not respect national borders. They require cooperation, coordination, and a shared understanding of our respective capabilities. No nation can effectively confront complex security challenges in isolation.”

NDF's Rear Admiral Junior Grade, Davison Mwoombola, said Namibia and Botswana remain committed to strengthening cooperation, professionalism, cultural exchange, and the bonds of friendship.
