As Namibia works to strengthen its skills base and create more opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship, technical and vocational education and training continues to play an important role. Gobabis Vocational Training Centre offers industry-focused programmes ranging from automotive mechatronics and electrical engineering to solar maintenance, welding, refrigeration and office administration.

At the Windhoek Industrial and Agricultural Show, Gobabis VTC Liaison Officer Violet Simataa joined anchor Denver Isaacsto to discuss skills development, changing perceptions around vocational education and preparing Namibians for the demands of a modern economy.
