Namibians have been experiencing a household debt crisis of alarming proportions, which is placing increasing pressure on families, workers, and the broader economy.

The remains of former Robben Island political prisoners Festus Nehale and Simon Petrus Niilenge, along with 84 ancestral remains, have finally arrived at the Hosea Kutako International Airport this morning.

The National Council has handed over a donation of N$27,609 to the Namibia-Cuba Solidarity Campaign in support of humanitarian assistance for the Cuban people.

The contribution was raised through individual donations from members of the National Council. 

The National Council Standing Committee on Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources has called for the review of the disaster risk management policy to address bottlenecks that prevent the timely implementation of disaster relief programmes.
