Members of Parliament in the National Assembly have expressed worries about the lack of natural resource beneficiation for local Namibians.

These sentiments were shared during the Ministry of Industrialisation, Mines and Energy's budget debate.

The Minister of Urban and Rural Development, James Sankwasa, said he was disappointed to learn when he took over the ministry that the Masokotwani project remained incomplete because of financial mismanagement by the Zambezi Regional Council.

It has been 14 years, and the Masokotwani Development Centre in Katima Mulilo is still incomplete due to underfunding.
