The Namibia Cuba Friendship Association (NAMCUFA) has condemned the United States' decision to add Cuba back to the list of countries alleged to sponsor terrorism.

Councillors of the |Khomas Regional Council, along with Chief Regional Officer Clement Mafwila, visited the area to evaluate progress following the awarding of the tender two weeks ago.

The Secretary to the National Council, Tousy Namiseb, stated that Namibia is focusing on enhancing its legislative and oversight functions to improve service delivery.

A pre-trial detention study conducted by researchers from the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) has revealed that about 43% of cases did not require detention or the pursuit of charges.

The study found that the issuance of admission-of-guilt fines was sufficient for those charges.
