Student teachers at UNAM's Keetmanshoop campus have called for improved funding for practical training programmes.

This was revealed by a lecturer from UNAM's School of Education, Simon Albin, during an interview with NBC News following the conclusion of the school's seminar.

Six classrooms were inaugurated at the A.A. Denk Memorial School in Kalkrand.

The classrooms were constructed through a grant of close to 18 million dollars from the Japanese government.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Gender Equality, Health and Social Welfare held a consultative meeting with the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) to discuss findings during their recent oversight visits.

The Governor of ||Kharas region, Dawid Gertze, has announced that plans are underway to establish a Governor's Development Advisory Council to drive the regional development plans.

He said this when delivering his second State of the Regional Address at Keetmanshoop today. 

Speaking at the same event, Urban and Rural Development Minister James Sankwasa says most traditional leadership wrangles are fueled by educated people. 

Sankwasa emphasised that the government is resolute in changing the narrative.
