For citizens of Botswana, 2025 was a year of economic struggle and a fragile hope. 

With significant downturns quarter after quarter and a collapsing currency, Botswana experienced the worst economic challenges. 

The coastal town of Swakopmund has emerged as a growing economic hub, though some sectors remain seasonal.

And according to the Swakopmund Business Chamber, better planning and improved services have ensured success.

The Roads Authority (RA) plays a pivotal role in road safety. It has made strides in ensuring good roads, but more still needs to be done in its core business of constructing and maintaining Namibia's road sector.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Natural Resources says Namibia must urgently strengthen governance and industrial capacity to fully benefit from emerging oil and gas developments.
