The Teachers Union of Namibia (TUN) will hold a Day of Action next week to review the just-concluded agreement on salary and benefits for public servants.

Works and Transport Minister Veikko Nekundi has ordered road contractor John Namushehe CC to pay its employees their full salary by the end of this month.

This order follows a lengthy, late-night meeting between the minister, the Roads Authority, labour inspectors, and aggrieved employees.

Various members of parliament are calling on the government to address concerns around inadequate housing and insufficient compensation for uniformed personnel, emphasizing the need to safeguard these professionals' well-being.

The ||Kharas Regional Council Chairperson, Joseph Isaack, says he won't back down from his recent decision to suspend the salaries of three councillors representing the Swapo Party in council amid a legal threat. 

The councillors are Lazarus Nangolo, Suzan Ndjaleka, and Taaimy Amakali. 

Following a disagreement over salary increments between Netbank Namibia and its employees on Thursday, leading to a demonstration by the employees, the Namibia Financial Institutions Union (NAFINU) and Nedbank Namibia have finally reached an agreement after a roundtable discussion.

The National Youth Service has reiterated that the organization did not withhold the guards' salaries deliberately as alleged.

This follows a demonstration by the NYS guards earlier this week demanding full salary payment.
