The high influx of people in the coastal towns of Swakopmund and Walvis Bay has put pressure on schools there despite the construction of additional classrooms and projects.

Employees of Etosha Fishing Company at Walvis Bay have reiterated their request for an increased fishing quota allocation.

The workers say 480 of them received retrenchment letters in March because the company does not have quotas to employ them.

Employees at Tunacor, a fishing company based in Walvis Bay, allege that they are prohibited from being represented by labor unions during disciplinary hearings.
